Intervention of conservationist restoration of a XIX century dress in laminated satin embroidered in silk and gold yarn.
The work, which was damaged by fire in 2023, has been damaged by black soot that has settled on the fabric and embroideries.
Restoration phases:
Partial disassembly of the dress.
Aspiration and elimination of particle deposition on the front and back of all tissues through an aspiration with micro-aspirator at controlled speed and protective filter nets.
Cleaning of the base fabric, embroidery and gallon using neutral pH sponges.
Fixing of the metallic yarns with technical stitches, and lapping using a micro-protective net in the most degraded areas.
