Description

Chasuble made in antique gold cotton/viscose/lurex fabric, characterised by an essential design that recalls the sober elegance of Romanesque architecture. The orphrey and collar are entirely hand-braided, enhancing the materiality of the vestment through highly precise artisanal work.
The project stems from the observation of the façade of the Abbey of San Pietro in Assisi, built in the characteristic pink stone of Monte Subasio. Its clean lines, balanced proportions and the rigorous geometry typical of the Romanesque become the compositional principle of the entire decoration.
The three rose windows that punctuate the façade above the entrance portals are reinterpreted in textile form through a refined geometric embroidery.

The Abbey of San Pietro in Assisi represents one of the most significant examples of Umbrian Romanesque architecture, characterized by clear lines, balanced proportions, and a use of material free from excessive ornamentation.

The project originates from a reinterpretation of the rose windows on the façade, understood as a geometric structure even before being considered a decorative element. The design is not replicated, but reworked to maintain coherence with the original architectural language.

The textile intervention develops through harmony: the circular motif is adapted to the surfaces of the stole and the altar furnishings, preserving compositional continuity among the different elements of the vestment.
